Santa Maria, the biggest manufacturer of spices and spice mixes in the Nordic region, partnered with Deasign to further inspire consumers in an engaging way through digital channels. So, how do you inspire and create true costumer value in an already cluttered environment? Simple. By taking it one step further.
How many times haven’t we asked ourselves: What should I eat today? That single question is a verifiable truth that life sometimes can be stressful, un-inspiring and where cooking becomes another checkbox in our daily routines rather than being fun, exciting and self fulfilling. And the core values for Santa Maria are to provide consumers with the tools to cook exciting new food by simple measures from a wide range of nationalities.
We created a smart phone application for both android and iPhones that’s directly synced with Santa Maria’s recipe and product database. Enabling the consumer to get both recipe and product inspiration in the kitchen, in store or on the go.
The main focus of the application is the scanning function. It enables consumers to simply scan the EAN code of any Santa Maria product, and reveal recipes connected to that specific product. This works especially well when you are at home preparing a shopping list, or in store, not knowing what to cook.
Since Santa Maria has a large amount of different concepts varying from Tex Mex to Indian, the application makes combining products, recipes and experiences more approachable and fun. Creating curiosity and a will to try something new. Every time.
We call it Scan & Cook.
By utilizing new technology we bridge the gap between the brand and Santa Maria’s consumers, and create a new form of touch point in situations close to the moment of purchase. By doing this we create new possibilities to boost sales and brand awareness through new digital channels.
Scan & Cook is not a stand alone initiative. We would rather look at it from a bigger picture, where we together with Santa Maria curiously explore the digital landscape. By tailor fitting great ideas and insights together with technology and digital behavior, we find new ways for Santa Maria to inspire and connect with it’s target audience.
